Hello,
My name is Bill Loftus and I am an inventor of a new, revolutionary building material and method of construction. My patent pending building system is designed so that unskilled people can erect a house by themselves with only a few hand tools.
I wanted to build a neighborhood so that his kids could live next door to your kids and have a fun environment to grow up in. When I surveyed my boys on what they most wanted to have in a neighborhood, they said, "A place to skateboard and build forts and have fun without upsetting the big people. Other things like swimming, boating, hills, climbing trees and "Could we have a rope swing that swings out over a water hole," were asked for.
When I surveyed the parents on what they most wanted in a neighborhood what I found was:
1. An affordable home that would be around the same amount that they are currently paying for rent or mortgage.
2. A neighborhood with people that were fun to be with; people who were worthy of trust and had similar ideals. They would like the neighborhood to be close to downtown Clearwater and it would be ideal if there was a school on the property so kids could walk to school. In 1989 I set out to invent this because conventional building methods were too expensive to erect the houses for this neighborhood. Over the next five years I figured out a way to make houses affordable and turned the complex activity of building a house into a simple activity thereby cutting out the labor costs. (About 1/2 the cost of a home is labor.) I designed all the pieces that go into a house as modular interlocking components. The result is a modular house or building kit that is put together with only a few hand tools - no power tools needed. The modular house kit is a combination of big kids' Lego set and erector set. As a result, my house kit is much easier to put together than a bicycle. I raised some money to create a factory that would mass produce these houses. (These kits are shells of the home and do not include fixtures, foundations, land costs, drywall, paint, carpet, etc.)
Other countries have found out about my modular building system from word of mouth only, resulting in presentations to South America, Guinea Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Columbia, Russia, Hungary, and China. It seems like my invention just might help solve the global housing shortage of 100 million homes. It is faster, no special skills needed, less expensive and because it can use up to 85% recycled materials that won't hurt the environment. It is superior to conventional and other prefab methods because it is hurricane resistant, won't burn down, won't rot and should last centuries with minimal maintenance. It is super insulated and requires no painting. It can look like brick or can be stuccoed.
I want to thank all of the people who have helped me in many ways along the way. Without their support, none of this would be possible.
Bill Loftus
